Grand Canyon 2017

This March, I was invited to a beautiful wedding in Arizona. Since I don’t often get to visit the West Coast, and since I had never been to Arizona before (let alone the Grand Canyon), I took the opportunity to take time off work for a long weekend to go to the wedding and also visit the Grand Canyon for the first time.

We landed in Phoenix around 9:00 AM and drove straight to the Grand Canyon from the airport in our rental convertible Mustang  🙌  .  On the way (driving with the top up, since it was rainy 😞 ), we passed by Red Rock State Park in Sedona. While we didn’t actually go to the Red Rock State Park, we managed to see Red Rock on the side of the road we were driving on (in front of a backdrop of some very ominous looking clouds).
On our way, we also drove up into the mountains where it was snowing and looked like we were placed directly in the middle of a snow globe. As beautiful as this was, it was actually a bit scary since we lost cell service and realized there was no one around to help us if anything were to happen to our car…
We finally arrived at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon in the afternoon. I took a quick peek before we dropped our things off in our room, but we took a better look on our way to dinner in the evening when I managed to take some beautiful shots at sunset.

The next morning, we woke up at 5:45 AM so that we could watch the sun rise. Now, the same side that seemed to be on fire as the sun was setting the night before, was being re-lit by the rising sun on the other side.

Another beautiful item off the bucket list! ✔
